Yes after a wee bit of messing about and jumping up and down, Crying with Laughter on to DVD and all the messing was due to one simple quandary 2 – Disc or not 2 Disc – that film fans is the question.

So, having looked at all the Bonus features, weighed up the pros and the cons it became obvious to us all that it had to be 2 Discs. The bonus features break down as follows;

Crying with Laughter on DVD

Hot off the presses it is now official, Crying with Laughter will be available on DVD in the UK, from 23 August 2010. There will be more details on this site shortly.

Special Crying with Laughter Screening @ Warwick Arts Centre!

If you are in or around the Warwick area this Wednesday, you really need to get yourself to the Warwick Arts Centre for a very special screening of Crying with Laughter.

Not only will producer Al Clark be there but as will writer/director Justin Molotnikov, plus the event is being supported by BAFTA so it will be an extra special evening all around!

…and you will too. If you didn’t know already ‘Crying with Laughter’ comes home tonight and will be playing at the Broadway cinema in Nottingham. The buzz on this film just keeps growing and Nottingham’s very own entertainment and lifestyle guide ‘Left Lion’ had a look at the film and have published their thoughts here.

Crying with Laughter comes to Nottingham

The Broadway cinema will be showing Crying with Laughter for three nights starting this Friday, this is an extra special event as the film was partially funded by EM Media (based in Nottingham) and is being distributed by new Indie The BritFilms Distribution Company (again based in Nottingham), so we are all very proud that this great film is at last playing in its second home town (after Edinburgh of course!).

Hello Glasgow! Get to the Grosvenor on Friday Night!

Crying with Laughter was released in cinemas on 16 April and has so far proven very popular with audiences. The film is a darkly comedic thriller about a stand up comedian whose life has stopped being funny.

BritFilms Distribution have teamed up with the Grosvenor Cinema, Glasgow, to produce a very special event this coming Friday 30th April. The director, producer and main actor (all based in Glasgow) will be at a special Q&A screening of the film on Friday 30th April at the Grosvenor cinema. And if that wasn’t enough, the band Figure 5, who whose music is used in the film, will be playing a special gig at the Grosvenor after the screening and Q&A – the evening promises to be a really exciting event!

‘Crying with Laughter’ Wins BIG at the Celtic Media Festival!

‘Crying with Laughter’ has won Best Feature Drama at the 31st Celtic Media Festival! Everyone involved in the film should give themselves a big pat on the back as this is really a major honour!

‘Crying with Laughter’ beat off top notch competition, including the BAFTA winning ‘Hunger’ by Steve McQueen. This win for ‘Crying with Laughter’ builds on the Best Feature Film award at BAFTA Scotland and further underlines its wide appeal.

Claire Mundell of Synchronicity Films, based in Glasgow, and producer of Crying with Laughter said:

“We are absolutely thrilled! To win this award in such a strong field is a real honour and a tribute to the wealth of film-making talent in the Celtic nations.”

While writer/director, Justin Molotnikov said:

“We’re absolutely thrilled with Celtic Festival award as the competition was extremely tough and it couldn’t have come at a better time for us as the film has just been released in the UK.”

‘Crying with Laughter’ was released theatrically on Friday 16th April at selected cinemas in the UK and will continue to be screened throughout April, May and June.

The film is a darkly comedic thriller about a stand up comedian, Joey Frisk, whose life just stops being funny in the most important week of his life. Stephen McCole stars in the central role of Frisk, while Justin Molotnikov writes and directs his debut feature. The film was co-produced by our friends at Wellington Films (‘London to Brighton’).

Crying with Laughter arrived in Cinemas on Friday and to get the word around town Stephen McCole (Joey Frisk) has been popping up on various radio shows. First up Stephen teamed up with CWL co –star Laura Keenan to visit the Radio Scotland Comedy Café following that Stephen McCole had a chat with Dave Aldridge for the BBC Radio 5 live show ‘Up all Night’.

The BAFTA winning Scottish Indie flick that has literally kicked ass around the world wide festival circuit gets its opening tomorrow.
